Making wishes come true for 82 children

MALACCA: Unlike other children his age, six-year-old A. Maran of Sri Ramakrishna Ashram here hardly gets a chance to go for a car ride or a day trip.

Maran looks forward to attending school next year so he can ride on the bus and explore new places.

For the time being, he enviously watches older children get on the school bus on weekday mornings before his kindergarten teacher arrives at the welfare shelter.

But Maran's luck changed recently when he got a chance to ride with actress Dira Abu Zahar in a charity ride organised by New Straits Times Press (NSTP).

The ride was in support of the Gold Ribbon and Grant-a-Wish campaign under Rainbow of Life Forces (Rolf) project initiated by the Creativision Group of Companies.

The NSTP convoy consisted of 45 super bikers and several drivers of four-wheel drives. The bikers were from clubs such as Biking Malaysia, Santana Riderz and Punjabi Bikers.
